Having Visa’s Expertise Could be Good For This Crypto
Crypterium, a payments start up aimed at bringing cryptocurrency payments to the mainstream retail space and beyond, has acquired a new member for their team. Marc O’Brien, the former CEO for for Visa’s operations in the UK and Ireland, has been recruited by Crypterium.
O’Brien commented on the matter by saying:
“What Crypterium will do is make that whole process seamless and give an opportunity for a consumer to actually use their cryptocurrency to pay for everyday items.”
Marc, with his experience and contacts in the industry, hopes to get the functional product ready to pitch to his former employers, Visa, as well as large credit competitor MasterCard.
As we all know, retailers are focused on their business and may not want to take the volatility risks of holding cryptos.
“Crypterium will do this without being exposed to the volatility of cryptocurrencies. This process is one of the vital intellectual properties of the company and is carefully protected.”
O’Brien believes that cryptocurrencies will be adopted the most, on the retail, level in countries suffering from high inflation. Developed countries citizens will likely hold as an investment until crypto adoption hits a majority. These hyper-inflationary nations can benefit immediately from value erosion caused by their government.
